III、Packaging and Storage
Packaging Specifications:
For domestic sales: 25kg plastic drums and 200kg plastic drums.
For export: 200kg iron drums or 1000kg IBC drums, and can also be packaged in ISO tanks.
Storage and Transportation:
IBOA is not classified as a flammable chemical, but during storage and transportation, it should be kept in well-ventilated warehouses, protected from direct sunlight, isolated from heat sources, and precautions should be taken to prevent high-temperature self-polymerization. When used in powder coatings, the copolymer of IBOMA can improve the powder's anti-caking properties, enhance the stability of powder coatings, and reduce the period's melt viscosity, thereby improving the coating's leveling, appearance, and gloss.
IV、Application of IBOA in Radiation-Curable Coatings (Inks)
Using IBOA as an active diluent in radiation-curable coatings (inks) can effectively reduce the viscosity of the coating (ink), improve construction performance, and enhance the leveling of the coating.
Using IBOA as an active diluent for epoxy acrylate copolymers significantly reduces the internal stress of the coating, reduces the volume shrinkage of the coating, thus significantly improving the adhesion, shrinkage, impact resistance, scratch resistance, and weather resistance of the radiation-curable coating without reducing its hardness and flexibility.

If IBOA is used in the protective coating of optical discs, it exhibits excellent adhesion and abrasion resistance on fine-line surfaces, and it enhances the gloss of the coating significantly. Due to these various advantages, IBOA, as a reactive diluent in radiation-curable coatings, has been widely applied in areas such as metal cap gloss, glass flexible films, engineering plastics, and optical fiber coatings. Additionally, it is used in some special printing inks, such as outdoor inkjet and printing inks for materials like polyethylene films.
V. Other Applications of IBOA
IBOA is suitable for manufacturing thermoplastic acrylic resins with high Tg. The products exhibit high hardness, resistance to alcohols, and heat resistance. They also possess good flexibility, adhesion, moisture resistance, and weather resistance. As a distinctive structure of a new acrylic ester monomer, it is suitable for decorative protective coatings on soft plastic films like PET, PE, PP, and engineering plastic parts such as PE, PP, PC.
The copolymer of IBOA has a high refractive index, providing excellent transparency in the resulting products, making it applicable in the production of contact lenses. Additionally, due to its low surface energy, its latex polymer is suitable for acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives on embossed sheets, and it can be used as a tackifier for pressure-sensitive adhesives. In powder coatings, it can serve as a flow improver in the molten state, enhancing flowability during melting.
Fiber coatings containing IBOA demonstrate high hardness, elongation coefficient, and excellent waterproof performance.
Further extensive applications await development and utilization by experts in various fields.
VI. Safety and Health
IBOA is a colorless or slightly yellow transparent liquid, insoluble in water, and has low toxicity. Prolonged exposure can cause irritation to the eyes and skin. The vapor and mist can irritate the nose or throat. Proper personal protective equipment should be worn during handling to avoid direct contact with the substance. Oral toxicity: CD50 rat 2300-4000 mg/kg Skin contact: CD50 rabbit 5000 mg/kg Eye irritation: Rabbit, slight Skin irritation: Rabbit, slight IBOA has a boiling point of 117°C (at 0.93 Kpa), a low vapor pressure at room temperature, and a flash point of 93°C. It is classified as a non-flammable chemical.
